Hand-Dyed Quilted Jacket

This is a hand-dyed, fully quilted jacket that explores the idea of “home” as both a physical place and an emotional anchor. Each fabric panel was individually designed and dyed using natural dyes including indigo, cochineal, and logwood, then cut, quilted, and sewn into the final garment. Two indigo panels feature resist-dyed patterns that reference places that feel like home to me in different ways: one depicts ice dance pattern outlines, inspired by my skating rink, and the other incorporates a PCB trace pattern, representing my academic home in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Through color, pattern, and craft, the piece weaves together personal history, technical identity, and material exploration into a wearable object.
